While I am card making, I can be as simple or elegant as I have time to be. In as little as 15 minutes, you can put your card making abilities to great use. By simply using a card making kit, you can create a card that really comes from the heart. And, it will look like you spent hours

making it. Card making kits range from really easy 5-minute cards to cards that are very ornate. These cards still only take 30-40 minutes depending, on your skill level.
If you don’t have a card making kit, you can still produce cards made from scratch. Your scrapbooking supplies will work just fine. Rubber stamps, die cuts, stickers, rub-on’s, quotes, ribbons and other embellishments can make card making a pleasurable, as well as easy & fun, experience. You can create your layout from special themes, such as birthday, thank you or wedding. These home made designs will really make you the talk of the town!

There are magazines, as well as websites, that have ideas and layouts that you can use to create your own card making designs.
When card making, it is okay to “mass produce”. Many people do this so they have cards for all year. This can take a lot of time to complete, but the end result will be that you will always be prepared! My personal preference in card making is to make them one at a time. That way, I feel the card is special and unique for that person. But, as I stated earlier, I have been that person who has forgotten to get a card for someone special. Now that I make my own cards, people expect to get them, rather than store bought cards. Don’t let that happen to you!
Creating cards is like making a small scrapbook page. You can put pictures on the card to create a special look. One year, for Valentine’s Day, I took pictures of our dogs and made a

special card for “Dad”. I even inked their paws for a personal touch from them! Needless to say, he was absolutely touched! Those are the types of memories I like to create while card making.
That’s what I mean by making each card special and unique to each person. Most people I know believe that it’s the thought that counts, not the gift. People love to know that you took time
out of your daily routine to make something for them. It makes them feel special and that’s the whole point, right? You don’t need to buy them something.
Card making can also be incorporated into your scrapbooks. Using special vellum envelopes, you can save the cards on specials pages like birthday, graduation, wedding and so on. You can also use photo corners to place the card in on your page so that the card can be pulled out and read. Go ahead an experiment with different ideas. Excited and full of great ideas now? I hope you are ready for an absolutely wonderful experience card making!
