Card making kits can help you decide on the layout for your card. They are available in many themes. You can use coordinated Mat Stacks to help make sure your theme is consistent. For me, kits make it easier to be creative. Soon, all you will be doing is looking for ideas when you see card making kits.

When looking for card making kits, the results seem endless. Some kits are paper only, while others can have embellishments included. These embellishments can range from die cuts and brads to ribbons, eyelets and quotes. I like card making kits that come complete. By complete, I mean they come with everything you need, except adhesives and scissors. These kits also come

with step by step instructions and pictures. Now, these are my kind of card making kits! Some catalog and online retailers offer subscription programs that send card making kits to you each month. These kits usually have a special card for the monthly theme, like Valentine’s Day, and cards for Birthday, Thank You, Thinking of You, Get Well and many others. They even come with the card stock and envelopes!

Another reason I like the kits is because I can complete them within minutes. When I create my cards from scratch, it usually takes me more time because I have to decide the color, embellishments, etc. Even though these cards are made from kits, they are still very unique because you made them. If you lined up 10 people and had them follow the same instructions, chances are great that they would all look different in one way or another.

Remember, there is no right or wrong way to make a card, either with our without card making kits. Only you will know if something isn’t perfect or exactly as shown in the instructions-trust me. I can read directions and follow the pictures and still wind up making my card “unique”. The fix is usually pretty easy…nothing that a ribbon, buttons, or punches can’t cover up. See, now that’s easy.

Here are some coordinated mat stacks that can be used instead of using card making kits:
