Wedding Themes
Wedding themes are a great way to preserve all those great wedding moments. Instead of purchasing the traditional wedding album from your photographer, why not just buy the proofs or even just the negatives. You can sort thru all the pictures of the wedding events that you enjoy. There are always those offset pictures of someone doing something that will make you smile or crack up laughing. When I got married, we put a disposable camera on all the guest tables and asked everyone to just casually take pictures. You can’t believe some of the pictures you get…cute grandparent dancing with grandchild or (one of my favorites) bride dancing with flower girl. It’s those unexpected pictures that are not staged that can make the greatest wedding memory.
Wedding themes can be anywhere from casual to black tie and there are wedding paper products, wedding kits and wedding albums to fit each and every one. Maybe you aren’t the bride or groom, so what better way to surprise them by giving them a wedding album you create. Some people even make customized wedding albums to complete the event.
You might be thinking about creating your wedding album right now, but here is an additional thought I have to offer: be sure to include the wedding invitation. You can make an envelope with vellum to hold the card and maybe write something creative in glitter ink on the front. That really makes a great first page. Depending on the theme of the wedding, you could even add embellishments like ribbon or fancy brads to the page.
Finally, wouldn’t it be fun to journal the event? Make remarks about the things that are going on because, who knows, the bride and groom might not be around to see firsthand what you are displaying. We all know that the bride and groom are so busy either greeting their guests or other things that they don’t get to really relax and take in the entire settings. Who knows, you might be showing them pictures that they had no idea happened during their wedding!
