Christmas

christmasChristmas is one of my favorite holiday’s to scrapbook. I find myself using both digital scrapbooking and handmade scrapbooking for a unique look. Christmas scrapbooking paper has really come a long way. You can use the traditional green and red, you can use paper with snowflakes, ornaments, Santa’s, trees, etc. You can use busy paper or keep it simple. You can use glitter paper or embossed paper. One thing I haven’t talked too much about with scrapbook pages are the pictures. One thing to remember, and again this is totally up to you as the scrapbook creator, is not to use pictures that are too similar. I know that after the holiday’s when I look at the pictures I’ve taken, there are a few (alright, more than a few) that are basically the same but just maybe christmas1from a different angle. For example, if I know my son is opening the present of a lifetime (to him), I get the camera ready and shoot several shots in a row so that I can get his expression. Of those shots, there is probably only one that is that perfect shot. That’s the one you want to put in your scrapbook.

Christmas scrapbooking can also be fun to make into a before and after album. All the festivities that take place before Christmas, like decorating or baking cookies to give to friends, can also be great ideas to put into your Christmas album. Maybe you and some friends get together and do a cookie or candy swap. Those are probably memories that you would like to have to look back on. Again, you might call your scrapbook a Christmas scrapbook but it may include things more “Christmas” time oriented.

christmas2Another idea for your Christmas scrapbook is putting the cards you receive on to pages. If you are a person who gets a lot of Christmas cards, maybe just use some of the more unique cards or some that have special sentiment.
