Pet Themes

Pets are a wonderful part of any animal lover’s life. My pets are not pets, they are family. I have a Miniature Schnauzer whose name is Baroness. She really thinks she’s a person. She sits in chairs and sleeps on my bed. If I’d let her, she’d love to sit at the dinner table! I also have a mixed breed dog named Dante. When I talk to them, I refer to their counterpart as brother or sister. I even tell me son that Baroness and Dante are his brother and sister! That’s how I feel about my pets.

I know that many people don’t feel the same way about their pets, be it a cat, dog, bird, or whatever. But, on the other hand, some people treat their animals more like children than I do. I have friends that carry their little dogs around in large purses. They even have different clothes and jackets that they put on them when they take them out. As I write these things, do you visualize what I’m talking about? If you do, then you probably already have an idea of pictures you could use to put in your pet scrapbook.

Maybe you have an outside pet rather than an inside pet. You might not want to dress them up, but that could make for some great pictures. I think of some of the dog commercials I’ve seen lately. Pictures of your dog being sprayed by a hose, jumping in a pond, digging a hole in the yard or just laying there quietly chewing on a toy or sleeping make for some wonderful memories. Do you ever watch America’s Favorite Home Videos? Every week they have animal clips that are so precious.

As like other themes, pet themes have many options to choose from. I love pet embellishments! You can choose from paw prints to dog tags and bones. Even the scrapbook paper has dog houses and bones. I have found many scrapbook kits for pets that are really cute.

There is nothing like a pet scrapbook to remind you of all the wonderful pets you’ve had in your life. I know my son loves to look at pictures of the dog we had when he was small. I even took pictures of our dog lying next to him on his blanket while he slept. Those are some really special memories I have and love to remember.

My love is for dogs, but whatever animal you have, you know that they are a blessing that is truly to be loved and cherished and fondly remembered. By scrapbooking about your pet, it’s a great way to honor and remember your cherished friend. I love my pets!
