Stamping is a work of art
Stamping is a great way to add character to both your scrapbooking and card making. There are many different ways to do stamping. You can stamp with an outlining stamp or try stamping with colored pens. You can fill the inside with chalk or colored pens when you use outline stamping.
Stamping with outline stamps is what makes your card personal. You can color with colored pencils or chalk to add definition. You can even purchase a water based paper and that will make your stampings come to life. With this type of paper, you can use colored pencils and then use a water pen to make the colors look like they are freshly painted. If you are stamping with other types of stamps, you don’t have to fill them in. You can just use colored pens for the

outline and you are done. As you can see on the examples I have done, this process is very simple, but looks like you spent hours making it. Here’s a tip when using stamps. Depending on the size of the stamp, it might take a little time to color the whole thing. Before you use the stamp, you should do what they call “huffing”. Huffing is when you put the stamp near your mouth and huff. The moisture in your breath will cause the inks to be moist again.
Stamping also makes card making a little easier to have the same design of colors and make different card. You just change the stamp and change it from a thank you card to a birthday card. It’s that simple. When you are stamping, you can also find stamps that have sayings.

Again, you can have the same paper theme and just use a different stamp. Sometimes, you find a color scheme or special card you make that will fit different themes. I have many cards that I have used while stamping that all I do is change the stamp. Believe me, they all look so different it won’t look as if you are copying the same card.
Stamping does take some practice. If you stamp on textured card stock,

be sure to really tilt your stamp so that it stamps evenly on the paper. These stamps tend to be lighter due to the texture. You might want to practice on scraps of textured paper to get the feel of it before you try it on a card. Before you know it, all you’ll want to do is card stamping!
